  2. Byzantines had one thing in common with late republic early imperial Roma times.. the absorption of legions/armies getting absolutely smashed and still coming out shaken but stable afterwards lmao. Everybody and they momma cousin and grandma fought these tenacious fools.

  7. If you didnt cover it, I think a Battle of Bar 1042 would be interesting. It was a battle between duklja slavs and byzantine romans/greeks while being heavily outnumbered but still the dukljans won and were one of the first slavic realms in the balkans independent of byzantine influence, later becoming the strongest slavic principality for a while. Also, the date of this battle is used as a day of Military of Montenegro due to its significance
