  1. The Severan dynasty always feels like the odd one out. It isn't the height of Rome but it also isn't the crisis of the third century. I guess the Flavians kind of share that intermediate dynasty curse. Also interesting that after the founder the most successful, sane Severan emperor became emperor at 13.
