What an amazing series this has been, thank you, I've thoroughly enjoyed it though I'm anxious to see what you have next.
There is no 9 part???
where is part 9
I like how in every video in this series he gets a new mic that is either slightly better or significantly worse than the last.
Curious about the fate of the dedicated Iberian javelins and the contingent of reinforcements. Were they all sacrificed? Did any of them rejoin the bulk of Hannibal's forces?
thanks HistoryMarche, please add indonesia subtitle
Pls do part 9 on the battle of cannae
Im dying to know if episode 9 will ever come out. Such high quality episodes. You should never stop!
This series is the best I've seen so far on really detailing, logistically and geographically, what was going on with Hannibal and the Romans during the Second Punic War. As an elephant fan, I'd love it if you could mention the elephants as much as possible, even when the army isn't doing battle–I've heard that Hannibal replenished his elephants at some point after most died, but it's unclear when or how or if that happened, or what types of elephants the new ones were (old ones were primarily the smaller, now extinct Atlas Mountain elephants, but I wonder if the new ones were the larger Asian ones? Or if maybe he only got new elephants when he returned to North Africa?).
and now the romans begin to put their boots on hannibals neck
one thing ive taken from the hannibal story is, he wasnt supported by carthage. i believe he could have taken rome. some highly powerful officials back in carthage didnt believe in him for some reason. even after this incredible success he had be it vs roman conscripts, the element of surprise and one very stupid general at cannae.
his final undoing was the numidian cavalry switching sides for the romans.
then latin language influenced western europe conquers and colonizes almost the whole world.
one man named hannibal, who stupidly decided not to march on rome, and probably some jealous officials in carthage who did not support him, could have changed the way this whole world would be.
we probably wouldnt be speaking english, and spanish would become extinct.
thank you hannibal, thank you carthage officials.
the rest is history.
Fabius Maximus, smartest guy on the Roman side.
