➤ I feel I could've explained better the reasons why Michael had to retreat. After Calugareni, Sinan Pasha held his nerve and didn't retreat. He had more troops coming over the Danube and he refreshed his army due to the vastly superior Ottoman resources in men and material. The Ottoman Empire was a superpower, which could recover from defeats such as Calugareni, while Wallachia was a local power and could therefore not afford any mistakes in this conflict. When Calugareni didn't open the way for Michael to stop the Ottoman invasion, he had only one more chance at Giurgiu…

Traiasca ROMÂNIA LIBERA SI INDEPENDENTA!✌✌✌✌✌💖💛💙
Wallachia kept taking on the ottomans when countries several times its size wouldn’t dare to.
Still waiting for part 3…
Are those the same Tatters who joined Genghis Khan?
Now we are sure that Ottomans soldiers didn't like water.
what is the point of joining the holy league if none of the countries who joined send reinforcements or aid. wtf man?!?!?
1 European knight is equal to 100 Ottoman soldiers.
The fact that i was born, raised and lived for 20 years in Giurgiu makes me pretty proud.
We romanians really could have pushed the brave othomans back to Asia. Didn't do it for not being occupied by germans, hungarians or poles. We tricked european powers. Here is a very powerful anticatholic propaganda! Turks treated orthodoxy with respect. We don't like greeks either. Constantinopol is a greek city, so is Adrianopol, avoided colaboration. Michael might be greek by origin, but romanians don't want to mingle in balkan affairs.
Romanians prefer serbs, rusians, georgians and bulgarians to catholics, protestants and greeks! The last ones are bulgarians anyway, even if their influence was maybe greater. We don't like rusian imperialism.
We are dacians! If there were some rights in the Balkans, no turks in Europe. We would have stoped them.
