Have we detected the first medium-sized #BlackHole? 🤔 #shorts

Our #Gaia spacecraft has captured a huge dark blob, 800 times more massive than our Sun which seems to be squeezed into a surprisingly small volume of space suggesting it could be an intermediate-mass black hole.

  1. We have already detected several intermediate black hole (50-500 solar masses) via gravitational waves or other more classical ways.
As the mass of this black hole is not given here it is possible that it is the first in a specific mass range, but not the first medium-sized black hole ever.
