Fire Tornado – Cool Science Demo
Check out this and other cool science demos at http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiments/ When you picture a tornado, most of us imagine a whirling column of air poking down from the clouds. But this tornado-like effect is not limited to just the air. A fire tornado or fire whirl is just like a tornado but it’s made of fire. As the heated air from the fire rises, strong air currents (often whipping through the trees) cause the air molecules to spin (often referred to as angular or rotational momentum) which shapes the flame into the shape of a tornado.

Tea Bag Rockets – Cool Science Experiment
The Tea Bag Rocket is really an adaptation of a classic science demonstration called the Ditto Paper Rocket. Each piece of Ditto paper had a sheet of tissue paper that separated the two-part form, and it was this discarded piece of paper that kids used to make the “rocket.” Since Ditto paper is a thing of the past, science teachers found a simple replacement – a tea bag. Watch the video and see the floating ball of ashes.

Exploding Pringles Can – Cool Science Demonstration
Check out this and other cool science demonstrations at http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiments/ It’s true that you can’t eat just one Pringle potato chip, and within a few minutes of popping the top, you find your whole hand is stuck in the can. Steve Spangler puts a science twist on getting the Pringles out of the can… and it only requires safety glasses, hydrogen gas and a match. Who doesn’t like to see an inverted Pringles can launch into the air leaving the chips behind. And if you’re really lucky, the chips are even stacked.

The name of the game in so many of the sports is to reduce any opposing resistance. In some instances, the athlete can actually use other competitors to block the wind (drafting in cycling). What does any of this have to do with floating beach balls and flying toilet paper?
