That's outstanding. Thanks for contributing to my next home education group experiment…again! I'm still a bit perplexed though. I get that electrons are picked up on the balloon, but what are they attracting or repelling to cause the effect of drawing the mixture? Apologies for lack of electrochemistry knowledge!

I believe water streaming gently from a tape works because water is polar, but this trick uses the non-newtonian liquid properties ?????
