ESA Euronews: Echoes from the Big Bang

Scientists are getting closer than ever to understanding the origins of the Universe. For the first time, they have glimpsed behind the veil that covers the ‘Big Bang’ with the announcement that the Background Imaging of Cosmic Extragalactic Polarisation — BICEP2 — experiment at the South Pole had spotted the footprints of something called primordial gravitational waves. These waves may be a sign that a theory known as cosmic inflation can be confirmed. For those studying the Big Bang — the beginning of the Universe — this is big news.

  2. Albert Einstein's theory about gravitational waves being primordial in echoing the Big Bang Theory correlate with Cosmic Inflation, i.e. the expansion of the universe. Scientists have known for quite awhile that the universe is constantly expanding, hence Carl Sagan's/others former contributions to science with the concept of the Big Bang Theory. However, a theory must be proven to become scientific fact, and that can only be confirmed by measuring gravitational waves in space and not based solely on the experiment at the South Pole: Background Imaging of Cosmic Extragalactic Polarization cannot isolate these waves adequately without interference. The math and physics must be applied through a higher scale of satellite mirroring technology in space, where gravitational waves can be received and measured with precision between much longer lengths and equal points in repeated succession.
