Galileo — Europe leads the way… in 3D!

A 3D presentation of the Galileo satellite navigation system, a joint development by the European Union and European Space Agency. This constellation of satellites will allow users to pinpoint their location anywhere on Earth — their launches commencing on 20 October 2011.

  1. It isn't. What if, because of some disagreement the USA decised to shut off Europe or the rest of the world from their GPS network? It'll be extremely inconvenient for civlians and put the European military at an incredible disadvantage towards armies with GPS.

    With Galileo Europe will be able to have a more accurate system also capable of assisting with construction work (which is somewhat unreliable with the more inaccurate GPS).
    No more depending on another country's politics
