    NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 Arrival & Welcome Remarks

    After lifting off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on Thursday, July 31, the crew members of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 mission are arriving at the International Space Station.

    NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov are scheduled to dock in their SpaceX Dragon spacecraft at approximately 2:30 a.m. EDT (0630 UTC) on Saturday, Aug. 2. Station crew will then open the hatches between Dragon and the station, to be followed by a welcome ceremony.

    Cardman, Fincke, Yui, and Platonov will spend several months on the station, conducting research to help humans learn how to live in space while making life better on Earth. After Crew-11 arrives at the station, the four members of Crew-10 will depart the station following a brief handover period.

    Axiom Mission 4 Arrival and Welcome Remarks

    Following the successful launch of Axiom Mission 4 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday, June 25, its four crew members are arriving at the International Space Station.

    Ax-4 is scheduled to dock with the station at 6:30 a.m. EDT (1030 UTC) on Thursday, June 26; arrival coverage will continue as the Ax-4 crew enters the station and makes welcome remarks. During their two-week stay aboard the orbiting laboratory, the crew of Ax-4 will engage in science, outreach, and commercial activities.

    Peggy Whitson, former NASA astronaut and director of human spaceflight at Axiom Space, is commanding the mission, with ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla serving as pilot. The two mission specialists are ESA (European Space Agency) project astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski of Poland and Tibor Kapu of Hungary. This mission is sending the first ISRO astronaut to the station as part of a joint effort between NASA and the Indian space agency. Ax-4 is also carrying the first astronauts from Poland and Hungary to stay aboard the space station.

    Throwing a Cosmic Kiss – Matthias Maurer’s journey to the International Space Station

    ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer and @NASA astronauts Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn and Kayla Barron liftoff to the International Space Station in the @SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft “Endurance”.

    Collectively known as “Crew-3”, the astronauts were launched from launchpad 39A at @NASAKennedy in Florida, USA at 02:03 GMT/03:03 CET Thursday 11 November.

    The spacecraft docked to the International Space Station at 00:32 CET Friday, 12 November/23:32 GMT Thursday, 11 November, marking the official start of Matthias’s first mission ‘Cosmic Kiss’.

    Crew-3 will spend around six months living and working aboard the orbital outpost before returning to Earth. It is the first space mission for Matthias, who’s become the 600th human to fly to space. He chose the name “Cosmic Kiss” for his mission as a declaration of love for space.

    Matthias has a background in materials science and looks forward to supporting a wide range of science and research in orbit. The work he carries out throughout his mission will contribute to the success of future space missions and help enhance life on Earth.

    Training to docking | Mission Alpha

    Highlights of the launch and first day in space of ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet on the Alpha mission.

    On 24 April at 11:08 CEST the Crew Dragon spacecraft with ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet, @NASA astronauts Megan McArthur and Shane Kimbrough, and @JAXA | 宇宙航空研究開発機構 astronaut Akihiko Hoshide docked with the International Space Station’s Node-2 Harmony module, marking the start of ESA’s six-month mission Alpha.

    The crew spent around 23 hours orbiting Earth and catching up with the International Space Station after their launch on 23 April at 10:49 BST (11:49 CEST, 05:49 local time). The launch to docking went smoothly in Crew Dragon Endeavour.

    Thomas is the first ESA astronaut to fly in space in a vehicle other than the Russian Soyuz or the US Space Shuttle, and the first ESA astronaut to leave Earth from Florida, USA, in over a decade. This is his second flight, his first mission called Proxima saw Thomas fly to the Space Station on a Soyuz from Baikonur in Kazakhstan and his expedition broke records for amount of hours spent on research at the time.

    Crew Arrival at Kennedy Space Center for NASA’s SpaceX Crew-2 Mission

    On Fri., April 16 at 12:45 p.m. EDT (16:45 UTC), four astronauts arrive by plane at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, less than one week before their scheduled April 22 launch aboard the Crew Dragon Endeavour to the International Space Station (ISS). Astronauts will join experts from NASA and our partner agencies to discuss the mission.
