   A lot of reaearchers have suggested that Forkbeard is most likely a mistranslation. His name can also mean “Double edged”. That he got his name from using a double edged axe would make more sense.

   What i've heard growing up in north jutland is that harald had a rotten "blue" tooth or teeth. But i think he may also just have stained his teeth with wine
