Sorry to sound dumb but why is it the bar is part of the math sentence doesn't make any sense to me I mean we measure the diameter of the mouth of the jar okay that makes sense but then we randomly measure a steel bar and that's going to explain to us how much air pressure is pushing up on the coaster? Yeah I just need to understand a little more
That was one of the worst explanations I've seen.
Why does each square inch equal a metal bar? Why is the air pressure greater than the water pressure + gravity? What happens if the jar is only 50% full, or 90% full? If the air pressure is greater than the water pressure, why would the water fall out when the coaster is removed?
