NASA Preps for Inaugural Parade
Video of preparations at the Joint Base Anacostia Bolling in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 19 for the two NASA floats scheduled to appear in Monday’s Presidential Inaugural Parade. The floats will feature full-scale models of NASA’s Orion, the multi-purpose capsule that will take our astronauts farther into space than ever, and the Curiosity rover now on Mars.

Huge waste of money. Until the administration gets more interested in science and exploration and less in "outreach" and propaganda, NASA will remain in decline.

Why is NASA spending time and money on parade floats, etc…? They should be exploiting Mars and doing NASA things.
I guess that they need to promote these kind of things, so that there's more public will to do things like explore Mars etc

Yeah I know it's PR. I'm a big NASA fan. IMO we should be developing a shuttle replacement, we should be sending men back to the moon and working on a manned mission to Mars, not begging the administration for crumbs to keep going.
.. and fired it's laser to see what the crowds are made of !
