TEMPO Mission Launch (Official NASA Broadcast)
NASA’s Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) instrument is the first space-based instrument to monitor major air pollutants hourly in high spatial resolution. Launch atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is targeted for no earlier than 12:30 a.m. EDT (0430 UTC) Friday, April 7 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. There is a two-hour launch window.
TEMPO, a partnership between NASA and the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, is a payload on the satellite Intelsat 40E. It was built by Ball Aerospace and integrated onto Intelsat 40E by Maxar.
