What happens when you have a build-up of gas? Don’t answer that question! The gas in question is carbon dioxide and the explosion is nothing short of fun. Warning: It’s impossible to do this activity just once. It is addicting and habit-forming. Proceed at your own risk!

  1. the tablet dissolves, the air pressure in the film container goes up, and BOOM! the lid pops off

  2. we did this with a piece of paper around the canister. it was like a rocket.

  3. LOL he got scared 0:25

  4. i like the music
do do do da do do do da

  5. hahahaha! Not sick Science on this..Better, dumb Science..

  6. because if you add fizzling tablet to water its powder form is coming up and if youwill close it be cause of the pressure it has that result. isnt it ?

  7. I did this last week with a bunch of kids and we had SO much fun! We found that if you put less water in the canister it flies farther.

  8. that was a project i had to do for school we made look like rocket ships
my group won and i still have the rocket

  9. HAHAHAHA he got scared when the cap flew off

  10. Hey!! What would happen if you put a heavy book or weight on top of the canister? How would the carbon dioxide find it's way out? Would the canister lid still pop off? 🙂

  11. We did this in school and it popped WAY higher. How this works first the alka seltzer dizolves to make CO2 and the carbon dioxide makes pressure and it trys to escape so the tighter u put the lid on the higher it goes!
