if i had a coin for each time french knights launched an assault unsupported on unfavorable grounds and got decimated by a far weaker forces…
More about battle fought by portuguese ! 😊
Interesting they keep using the term 'Lances' even on foot- do they really mean Spears and Polearms?
Can the next video be the battle of Bouvines
Votive offering to the algorithm!
Portugal, CARAAAAALHOOOOOOOOOO
I just realised medival battles are bassicly just one big rock paper scissors cavalry beat archers , the beat's spearmen, spearmen beat cavalry
Kinda sucks that there is such negative bias towards the french knights, they were trully elite troops, but their immense arrogance really was their downfall in battles like this one.
Are the French always dumb and arrogant throughout their history? 🤔
Fun fact: In the first battle, of The Atoleiros, the comanders of both forces, Portuguese and castillian, were brothers..
How many times have the French knights managed to fumble a should be easy victory
Well done. Engaging video that touches a key part of world history that mostly ignored. Joao’s son Prince Henry was the Elon Musk of the renaissance, it would be great to see a video comparing them and their achievements.
This comment is a humble sacrifice to the algorithm
lol, it seems like every single battle when there were french knights making up part of a multinational army they always jump the gun and manage to fuck up the battle
Do Battle of Muta’ah. The first battle between the Muslims and the Christians.
