  1. Thespians were only ones that literally lost all soldiers they sent.
    Thespians lost 700 hoplites, all of them died in battle and those 700 were entire Thespian army.

    They sacrified far more than Spartans.

    This was first and only time Spartans fought to the last man but for Thespians it wasn't.
    Thespians fought to the last man before and after Thermopylae.
    Thebans were so known to fight to the bitter end and were better soldiers than Spartans.

  2. Thank you for this. I've always wondered what was real and what was fiction in all those movies and retellings – obviously those "monsters" were fake lol, but other parts as well
