🚩 In Britain, at the northernmost edge of the empire, Rome’s strategy for command and control failed horribly. For the first time in memory, the Roman army is in retreat and the power of Rome is questioned. The Iceni army led by Boudica has cornered the outnumbered Romans at Mancetter. The Roman general Gaius Suetonius Paulinus steels his men for the battle ahead: “Ignore the racket made by these savages. There are more women than men in their ranks. We have beaten them before and when they see our weapons and feel our spirit, they will crack. Stick together. Throw the javelins, then push forward! Knock them down with your shields and finish them off with your swords. Forget about plunder. Just win and you will have everything!”

Hello: Can you do the Battle of Manila around 1574 between the Chinese Pirate Limahong , his Japanese lieutenant, Sioco, with the Spaniards Martin Goiti and Guido De Lavezares? The Spaniards had to hold on to Manila and fend off the Portuguese ( separate foe from this Battle and where in the Mindanao area at the time) and the Chinese naval armada. Had Limahong won, the history of the South China Sea would not have been a Spanish territory for 300+ years.
I doubt they were that poorly equipped by the time of the battle, having looted 3 settlements before this.
I still don’t understand why anyone celebrates Boudicca , she led her people to complete ruin . There is nothing glorious or great about her. If Boudicca were male would anyone be celebrating his rebellion and destruction of the entire people?
