🚩 After a string of victories, Charles XII of Sweden decided to take the war to Russia. If successful in reducing Peter the Great’s army, the Swedes would likely take Russian cities of Pskov, Novgorod, and possibly Arkhangelsk. Charles XII would also likely gain control over Courland and Polish Livonia, as well as becoming protector of Poland. In return Poland would receive territories lost to the Russian in the latter half of the 17th century.

the winter of 1709 was the harshest and coldest winter in the history of Europe
Like Napoleon in 1812, Charles XII's empire never recovered from the aftermath at Poltava. Napoleon tried to avoid the many factors that doomed the Swedes's campaign for France by implementing a strong supply system and quick maneuvers to maintain his field army's momentum. Still, Russian resolve alongside the Cossacks slowly chipped away at the invader while badly poor terrain, roads, and later winter hampered the French. Poltava would be almost similar to how Napoleon's depleted Grand Armee was facing encirclement & annihilation by the Russians during the battle of Breerzina – Maloyaroslavets, Vyazma, and Krasnoi in the 1812 retreat.
Charles was with the infantry and army during the battle, not sitting in the camp lol
Listen, excuse for a king! Trust me, this fight you can't win!
Swedish soldiers met their bane!
That day was Crazy dude… Charles XII was so determined

Russians were not called Russians then, but Muscovites. Muscovy became Russia after this war
