  1. This was never about "English dominance in France". There was no political france or England. The English throne since 1066 was as much about lands in France then in England. But people pledged themselves to the local ruler the most. If Brittany went to the Valois side then the citizens supported Valois. That's why Hollywood movies about that time suck so bad. It's always portrayed as a nationalist conflict.
